PassGo product support for z/OS 1.6 and 1.7

We get more questions on z/OS level support than on any other subject so here is the latest information on the current level of support for your PassGo z/OS product installations.

In general, all the 64 bit capable operating systems from OS/390 2.10 to z/OS 1.6 require the same level of code for compatibility. z/OS 1.7 changes this slightly as IBM have dropped support for 1 byte console IDs and require that 4 byte console IDs are used for messages to the MVS console. The fixes NCF0172 and NCF0175, which can be downloaded from www.passgo1.com, are required for the 4 byte console support. However you do not have to wait for z/OS 1.7 to apply these fixes as all currently IBM supported OS levels support the 4 byte console IDs.

The following table shows the required fixes or maintenance levels for PassGo products. All of the current maintenance levels of the listed products are compatible with the current z/OS 1.6 and all previous z/OS levels. The minimum maintenance level is the level that contains the specific fixes. The fixes can however be applied individually to lower maintenance levels if preferred.
