PassGo improves NC-Access storage consumption

The storage consumption of NC-Access has been improved to overcome certain system environment conditions. The two main issues that could affect NC-Access storage are:

  • Increasing numbers of users and extended periods between planned downtimes.
  • IBM's default method of allocating telnet lunames changed in z/OS 1.4. This means that a far greater number of different terminals can connect over time and terminals may never return to clear up storage.

With the help of some of our customers running many thousands of users through NC-Access, PassGo has been able to implement changes that improve the storage consumption of NC-Access under a variety of conditions. The following downloads are available to help reduce storage consumption.

Download Situation affected
NAB2461 Reconnecting Multi session sysplex users
NAB2465 SPE users powering off in session
NAB2466 SPE users powering off in session
NAB2467 + NCF0170 Multi session users especially with load balancing between multiple tasks
NAB2475 SPE users on z/OS 1.4 and higher
